Our Mission Statement
The mission of the Eustis Area Community Foundation is to enrich the quality of life in the Eustis area by:
- Supporting and Strengthening local non-profit organizations.
- Providing flexible ways for donors to benefit their community.
- Identifying needs and making grants in areas of art, culture, human service, education, recreation, environment, and civic improvements.
- Participating in partnerships with other community groups.
- Building endowments to help meet future community needs.
What is a Community Foundation?
A community foundatin is a local, public charity established to meet future needs in the community by building a permanent endowment fund or “savings account”. There are more than 500 Community Foundations in the United States. The Eustis Area Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Nebraska Community foundation which has more than $14 million in assets. The professional staff is available to assist you and your financial advisors to meet charitable and tax saving goals.
What is the purpose of a Community Foundation?
- To attract new financial support for a community “savings account” that will meet current and future needs.
- To provide a method by which people can leave their gifts to benefit the community we call home.
- To provide donors maximum flexibility and tax advantages with their charitable contributions.
- To provide professional management of endowment funds, in which gifts will be permanently invested and the earnings used for local charitable purposes.
What types of tax deductible gifts can be made?
- Outright gifts of cash or securities
- Memorial gifts of any size honoring relatives or friends
- Deferred gifts such as bequests, trust or life insurance policies
- Real estate
- Gifts of grain and/or livestock
- Gifts of depreciated farm machinery
